Auckland currently provides Aotearoa New Zealand's most established commercial collection network for food scraps and certified compostable packaging. Depending on the collection provider, organics are processed at either Green Gorilla's composting facility or Envirofert.

Commercial collection services are available through EnviroNZ, JJ's Waste & Recycling, Green Gorilla, Reclaim and Waste Management. While commercial organics infrastructure remains inconsistent across the country, Auckland provides established pathways for businesses to divert food scraps alongside certified compostable packaging.

Where certified compostable packaging is currently accepted
